Harlem hip hop phenom A$AP Rocky scores #1 album with his debute LONG.LIVE.A$AP!
Top the Billboard charts with sales of nearly 139,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the REAL story is how his album did so well even after being leaked almost 30 days before it came out in stores!

It IS a blessing…yo. I mean seriously when a hip hop album is leaked to the public weeks before the official release it usually means poor sales. And poor sales can be a death toll to new artists in an industry that now a days hasn’t the time money or patience to groom neophyte emcees. A new artist has to come out the gate swinging or return to that dusty “studio” they set up in they momma’s basment.
How did A$AP buck the trend? I believe the hardcore fans he established as an unsigned artist due to his free mixtapes and youtube videos came through for him in a BIG way! I believe when you give the people something for free it comes back to you ten fold and THATS what A$AP did! Another win for hip hop artists in an ever changing and evolving industry! Congradulations A$AP!
